Sunscreen is a must for New Hampshire summers, but which one is best for your health and for the health of the planet? We've tried lots of eco-friendly sunscreens over the last ten years and I can recommend Raw Elements hands down as our best find. Why?
First, it meets our environmental and health standards. The sunscreen itself is reef-safe, cruelty-free, non-GMO, and biodegradable, and the packaging is plastic-free. The sunscreen contains no synthetic chemicals and uses non-nano Zinc Oxide. It is made with organic and certified natural ingredients.
Second, it comes in a recyclable, reusable, refillable tin. I have reused our tins at We Fill Good for lotion, deodorant, and other creamy products. It would also make a nice container for small change, travel necessities, or any other small collections.
Third, it spreads really nicely. We've suffered through lots of chunky, thick eco-friendly sunscreens and this one is so easy to spread and easy to rub in. It's also easy to get every last bit of it because it comes in such a great container. No wasted sunscreen here!
This sunscreen sells for $17 for a 3 ounce tin, so it's definitely an investment in your health and the planet, but a necessary one. I would also very much recommend pairing Raw Elements sunscreen with SPF clothing, wide hats, and good sense (staying inside or in the shade during the hottest hours of the day). Enjoy the sun!
